1. How do I order a skip?

2.  Can I cancel my order if I change my mind ?

Yes.  you can cancel your order right up to the time that your order is allocated to a driver.

3. What times are you open for business ?

Our office hours are 07:00 – 17:00 mon to fri and 0700 – 12:00 on Saturdays but you can order a skip online at any time.

4. What forms of payment do you accept ?

For online orders we accept credit and debit cards over the telephone at the time of ordering.  We also accept cash or cheques paid to the delievery driver when he delivers your skip.

5. How long can I keep a skip?

Our standard skip hire service is based on a hire period of one week but we can usually accommodate longer periods at no extra charge. Please contact us if you require the skip for a longer period of time and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

6. When do you come and collect the skip ?

We rely on you to call or email us when you have filled your skip to arrange for it to be collected.

7. What do your skip hire prices include?

Our prices are fully inclusive of delivery, collection and ethical recycling / disposal of your waste and VAT. There are no hidden costs.

8. What size skips do you have?

We provide the following skips

2yd, 3yd, 4yd, 6yd, 8yd, 10yd, 12yd and 14yd open skips as well as 20 and 40yd roll – on – off skips for the really big jobs and commercial sites. Click on this link to WHAT SIZE SKIP DO I NEED ? page to see photos of each size so you can choose the right one for your needs.

9. Do your skips have drop down doors ?

We can offer most sizes of skip with a drop down door to make it easier to load soil and other heavy waste.  Just tell our team member that you would like a door when you order or when we confirm your delivery date (shortly after you order on line).

10. What can I put in the skip that I hire?

You may put any general waste into the skip that you hire, this includes soil, brick, general household waste, garden waste etc.

11. What am I not allowed to put in to the skip that I hire?

Hazardous waste including any of the following items are not permitted in standard mixed waste skips.

  • Asbestos

  • Plasterboard

  • Paint

  • Tyres

  • Gas cylinders

  • Fridges

  • Freezers

  • Televisions

  • Computer Monitors

  • Oil

  • Batteries

  • Chemicals

12. How much can I put in the Skip?

You may only fill the skip as high as the top of the sides of the skip. This is to ensure that the skip is safe for transportation on the public road without risk of waste spilling out.

13. Can the skip be put on the road outside my house?

If you would like the skip on the road or grass verge you must have a permit (License) from the local authority. We arrange this on your behalf and provide the necessary lights, cones and insurance cover. These permits can take up to 5 working days to obtain so contact us in good time if you think this might apply to your property.

14. What happens if I cannot have the skip outside overnight?

We offer a Wait and Load service where the driver will wait with the skip whilst it is loaded for up 30 minutes at no extra cost.

15. How wide do my gates need to be to get a skip in?

Our skips are approximately 1.8metres (6ft) wide so we can usually drop a skip into a space of approximately 2m (6ft 8in) wide. If you want the lorry to come right into your property we will need an opening of approximately 3.1 metres (10ft) wide, Please call on 01353 699378 for further free impartial advice.

16. Can you drop a skip over my hedge or wall ?

As long as the lorry can back safely up to the wall or fence and it is no more than 1metre (39 in) high we can usually lift the skip over into your property.

17. What happens to my waste?

We transport your waste to our licensed recycling facility where we aim to recycle up to 90% of it. This facility is licensed by the environment agency and operated in line with current environmental protection legislation.

18. Are you licensed to carry my waste ?

We are authorised by the Environment Agency to transport your waste. Our waste licence number is CB/XN5475J
